Default New Widdy Dart Board - Wooden variety, not paper

Greetings. A buddy of mine recently purchased a brand new Widdy Dart board along with the score board. He loves it. However, when we threw our first few games, we continually had darts "not stick" for lack of a better term. It almost seems like the board it too hard. Has anyone experienced this same issue. Do we simply need to let the board break in? The darts don't seem to be an issue, they are brand new Apex style, which I think are acceptable?

You will need to break the board in. The wooden boards are always hard to get a dart to stick in when brand new. Try sticking the tip of your dart into a potato or water, I always find this helps.

Default total agreement

i think beckyloo4 is spot on. and yes - APEX darts are perfectly acceptable.

new boards do have a period where you are "Breaking them in", and you can expect extra fall-outs until there is some wear on the board.

do use a potatoe or a shotglass of water to dip the darts into between innings. also, make sure that the darts are sharp. if they've been falling out, they may be hitting the floor and losing some of their sharpness, which would make them even more prone to fall out - so you've got a bit of a vicious cycle going on.

happy darting!
